The hugely popular Black River Park was established in 1999, and completed in 2006. It is nestled in Observatory and has been rated as the greenest office precinct in South Africa as all of its buildings are between 3 and 6 green star rated. Black River Park offers 75000 square meters of office space, spread across 8 office buildings.

The development of the park began at the Gate House and worked through to the Collingwood and Park Buildings. Each building has its own special touch. The Gate house, right at the entrance to the park, has a top floor with wrap around windows, and large glass windows on the below floors. The Collingwood Building, is slightly smaller with just 2 floors and a deli at its entrance and the Park building, alongside the entrance to the park, has a face brick facade with large windows for lovely natural lighting

Originally Black River was going to be developed into an industrial park, however this changed as the developers realised the demand for this calibre of an office park in the area, and thus grew Black River Park as developers converted ‘The Old Warehouse’ into more office space, keeping the look and feel of an industrial space, and had to purchase an additional, adjoining building, The Terraces.

As all of these 8 buildings reached maximum capacity with tenants, and the demand was still so high, the development of the North Park was in planning, and the completed building of 22500 square meters was ready for tenancy in 2004.

The final building was completed in 2006, measuring at 13500 square metres, now known as the Central Building. This stunning building has an incredible glass facade and fits in to enhance the atmosphere of the entire park.

Waste from the park is sorted on site into recyclable and non-recyclable materials. Black River Park has the largest solar roof-mounted system in South Africa, and there is borehole water on site - all factors contributing to this green star ranking.

The park itself is fully secure with 24 hour security. There is boom access and 24 hour surveillance cameras. There are also many convenient on-site facilities such as a Vida e Cafe, a deli, hairdresser, physiotherapist and car wash, to name a few.

This A grade, green star rated office park is located just off the N2, with a short travel time to the Cape Town CBD, Cape Town International Airport and the N1.

A vast array of offices are available to rent, measuring from as small as 40 square meters, to the industrial property on-site of 3300 square metres. All the buildings are positioned in order for each space to have its own unique, beautiful view - whether facing the slopes of Devils Peak, or out towards the Liesbeek Park River, and over the River Club Golf Course. The large glass windows provide each unit with ample natural lighting, creating light and bright work spaces, where employees look forward to arriving each day.
