The New Head Office for a potential client in Rosebank is proposed over two city blocks. The combined floor area of 74 000 m2 makes this one of the largest projects in the Rosebank District. Despite its size, the development is decidedly low-slung, and communicates its function clearly. It is a perimeter block that has externalized its services contained in delicately articulated organs. These service buildigns mechanically tie themselves into the larger building envelope, but seem to orbit around the central building much like the way an electon orbits the nucleus of an atom. Also, these structures serve to synthesize the urban layer, or street level, into the circulation patterns and primary function of the building’s many users in a harmonious way.
